Knuckle Threads or Round Threads
We manufacture your custom-made knuckle thread. The knuckle thread (or round thread) profile prevents prevents dirt buildup and mechanical damage. It is also more resistant to wear and tear than other threads as there are no delicate edges. We manufacture single-start and multi-start round thread lead screws and knuckle threads according to DIN 405, DIN 15403 and DIN 20400 standards (using metric and imperial measurement units), as well as completely custom made lead screws.
Knuckle Threads at Work
Knuckle thread screws are used in many different applications:
- Underground mining. Where they are used as round thread lead screws in hoists.
- As fastening threads in clutch and brake screws on trains and also in larger valves and gates.
- As lifting and guiding lead screws in industrial engineering where equipment is faced with dirty environments. Due to the rounded edges of the thread profile the round thread lead screw is resistant to dirt and at the same time can withstand very large forces.
